안녕하세요. 오늘은 구동사 Phrasal verbs에 대해서 알아보겠습니다. 구동사를 공부하는 가장 큰 이유는 비격식 영어, 즉 일상 영어에서 정말 많이 쓰이는 것이라서 이것들과 익숙하지 않다면 영어가 더욱 어렵게 느껴지지 않을까 싶습니다. 그리고 구동사는 스피킹 시 조금 더 매끄러운 영어를 만들어 주는 역할도 하기 때문에 꼭 공부하시기 바랍니다!

over, in, up은 movement을 표현 할때 사용된다.
I'm asking Richard over for dinner tonight. | ask over = invite |
You can go in to the cave if you want. | go in = enter |
They mixed up the paints and spread them all over. | mixed up = combined |
We touched up the car before selling it. | touch up = cosmetically alter/refine |
전치사 한 개 이상 사용되는 구동사들

hold on to | need/use | Everyone is trying to hold on to their job. |
add up to | equals/amounts to | taking in on will add up to a lot of extra work. |
run away from | avoid/escape | You can't keep running away from your problems. |
lie down on | recline/lay flat on top off | There is nothing in the room to lie down on. |
hold off on | delay/refrain from doing | hold off on buying the jacket, I want to check online first. |
자주 쓰이는 in, out 전치사로 만들어진 구동사들

He jumped off the cliff and dived into the water. |

put out(extinguish) | The firemen put out the fire with their water hoses. |

work out(exercise) | Bob works out five times a week. |
work out(examine/solve) | I'm trying to work out this puzzle. |
work out(resolve/amend) | The teenager went to a counselor to work out his problems. |
work out(achievement/success) | How is your job working out? It's working out fine. |
carry out(conduct/perform/execute) | The police carried out a raid on the house and founda large quantity of cash. |
fall out(disagree) | Kevin and John fell out with one another because of an argument over money. |
find out(discover) | The thief was found out when he dropped the jewelery on the ground. |
hand out(offer) | The teacher hand out sweets to the children on the last day of school. |
point out(highlight/draw attention to) | I need to point out you're not supposed to be in this room. |
run out(not enough) | We've run out of milk, can you buy some in the shop? |
